That's awesome! its so cool to hear someone unlocked that getting over 50,000 is quite the feat, great job :D
I've been hard at work on the steam version of the game trying to make this game as polished and fun as possible, if you have any ideas, nitpicks, feedback I'd love to hear your thoughts. the game has come very far from the version here on itch and the current state of the project makes this itch version look and feel really bad lol.
But yea if you have any thoughts about anything at all id be grateful to hear them, its chill if not i just thought id ask just in case :D
yeah okay i'd love to. One annoying thing is that ranged enemies linger around the edge of the screen, which is also where the bomb enemies spawn, and if you try to swing at them just when the bomb enemies spawn they hit the edge and explode, damaging you, which can be frustrating because with everything else going on you don't really notice the little green bar that tells that bomb guy is about to appear. The golden mace guy also kind of punishes you for sticking around near the edge cus the mace comes out of nowhere, but if you stay near the centre another problem is that as all the enemies go towards you and so groups up, and normally this is fine but if there is a regular enemy behind the bomb enemy, you hit the bomb into them and it just explodes on you. I also don't think you get a skull stack for hitting bomb guy, and he also spawns pretty common, so he is probably one of the biggest threats. The dashing I don't use too much tbh. The character is quite fast anyways and dashing just feels less precise? like more prone to accidentally dash into an enemy and get hit, so I rarely use it. That's everything, really. hope this helps and good luck on the steam version! when you release it, send me a link
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback it is a massive help.
The bomb enemies were under balanced and have been re adjusted to feel more fair. There was a bug where the bombs didn't grant skulls and that has been fixed.
The dashing and overall player movement has been completely reworked and feels much more precise and smooth.
I plan to also re-work the enemy spawn notifier to make it more obvious and accurate to the enemy spawning, which should help with the mace and bomb enemies.
Thank you again for the feedback and thanks for playing!
came from gx games (leaderboard top score holder so far), this game is so fun. Its practically flowing with juice, its so satisfying to play. soundtrack slaps as well
Holy, the visual style of this game is beautiful and that's not to say the gameplay is lacking because it just isn't, a very fun game with a surprising amount of move sets/actions you can do for a small arena with a few enemy types. Now i must admit i suck at video games that require mechanical skill so i tried but couldn't get a good high score (i did get 5000 so that must be decent right....). Overall, great game that you should be proud of especially for only 3 months of work??!?!?! (also Nick Cook really did cook with the soundtrack) I can really see this game taking of with more development to it but be careful not to ruin the nice simplicity of main mechanic.
Thanks for playing! 5000 is a pretty solid score! If I were to come back to this project I think it could be cool to have different themed arenas with unique enemies you unlock after reaching x score on the previous one, and a final boss esc one at the end or something. I also think upgrades or something could be cool but that might stray too far from the simplicity. Thank you for your feedback, I greatly appreciate it! :D
